Quality Plasma TV Stands Can Protect Monitor Investment

Filed Under (Accessories) by Richard on 19-07-2008

When you are going to spend possibly thousand of dollars on a new plasma television, there is no sense in skimping on the price of plasma TV stands. You are going to want something that will hold this expensive monitor in an upright position, without fear of it falling over and being destroyed. The larger the screen the more security you will want in knowing the unit is not going wobble and potentially fall down if someone bumps the plasma TV stands on which it is located.

Depending on the size of your new television monitor, it can be made to stand on the floor, on plasma TV stands on the floor or hung on the wall. One of the disadvantages of hanging the set on the wall is routing the cable or satellite wires as well as surround sound speaker wires through the wall, or have them showing as they trail from the floor to the back of the unit. If using an entertainment system stand that includes spaces for DVD player or television channel tuner, you will want to make sure it is large enough to handle the size of your monitor.

Filed Under (Accessories) by Richard on 02-06-2008

I live around 25 miles from Manhattan, where the towers of most TV stations are located. My apartment’s windows all face north, while the signals all comes from southwest. I cannot get signals from where it comes from, and thus needed to get signals from deflections perhaps off nearby buildings and trees.

Philips High Performance Amplified Indoor

It’s a very poor circumstance for over-the-air reception, maybe just slightly better than being underground. Signals are weak, and are affected by weather. Stormy and windy days have shown effects at disrupting signal reception. I’m a first timer at getting OTA HDTV. This has been an experiment in progress for the past 5 weeks. I have gone through four antennas (they are all here as I write this) before finding something that’s satisfactory (rather than tolerable).

Shop Guide for furniture along with flat-screen TV

Filed Under (About Plasma TV, Accessories, News) by Richard on 21-05-2008

“It sounds wonderful to say that flat-screen TVs sit flat on the wall and look beautiful,” says Boston interior designer Eileen Patterson. “But they don’t. They usually protrude anywhere from 4 to 18 inches from the wall. And then there’s all the equipment that goes along with it.”

The new generation of sleek, flat-panel televisions was supposed to eliminate the need for walnut armoires and sprawling home entertainment centers. But anyone who has purchased a flat-screen TV knows the future is not quite as simple as it looks. Tips & Buying Guide to Plasma TVs

Filed Under (Accessories, Hitachi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Plasma TV, Samsung, Vizio) by Richard on 06-05-2008

Usually, the price of a Plasma TV would be far cheaper than an LCD TV. This is due to the cost of producing the LCD display panel and the quality of the LCD display itself. Although in general the Plasma TV’s resolution is not as good as an LCD TV’s, it can still produce very sharp images compared to CRT TV’s with the help of various technology.

Plasma TV’s and LCD TV’s should not be confused with each other, as some people tend to do. Plasma televisions basically use a plasma discharge inside, compared to LCDs which uses a mercury based active matrix system. This TV tends to be more popular among households these days compared to LCD TV’s and this is simply because of one thing; the price.
